We’re looking for a Foodie with a passion for food and great customer service to join us at our Lake Oswego store. In this role, you’ll engage customers by preparing samples that showcase the wide variety of products we offer. Working closely with department managers, you’ll help identify featured items, gather ingredients from across the store, and highlight their quality and versatility. This position is key to creating a positive shopping experience, building product awareness, and supporting sales, all while delivering warm, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service. Cooking experience is required, along with availability to work weekend shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional customer service. Follow through on all customer questions and requests.
- Understand why our products are different than conventional stores, and be able to communicate the differences to customers.
- Ensure the quality, freshness, and presentation of all demonstrations meet all company standards (freshest and highest quality).
- Grow product knowledge by reading and researching new trends and products. Create recipes for all dishes sampled.
- Be able to convey knowledge to customers and associates by offering samples and answering questions.
- Change the scope of products to correspond with seasons and holidays.
- Project a positive and professional image of Zupan’s to associates and customers. Be a brand ambassador.
- Work with the store director and department managers to determine product/creative dishes for sampling, incorporating shrink from perishable departments when possible
- Document product transfers using appropriate forms.
- Maintain sanitation conditions in the preparation and distribution of all product. Maintain a clean and well organized demo space.
- Help cross-merchandise product with other departments.

- Must have a valid Oregon Food Handler card
- OLCC card desired
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Successful prior work experience in a restaurant culinary position or prior one year prior experience in a similar foodie position. A strong working knowledge of cheese, meats and produce is desired. Background in creating recipes desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from other managers, associates & customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Strong basic math skills including the ability to add, multiply, divide, subtract and calculate percentages
Knowledge of Microsoft Office application including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems.
