SUMMARY 

This is a hybrid position that will be back up for the Macadam POS Position and backup for the Macadam Receiving clerk.

Summary for POS position

Shares responsibility with all department team leaders for ensuring store data accuracy so our customers can enjoy a seamless shopping experience.  Accuracy pertains to retail, costs, scale labels, shelf tags, weights and measures, promotional signage and front-end scans.  Provides excellent customer service to associates and customers.

Summary for Receiving Clerk

Maintains strong organization of back room and receiving system. Processes designated deliveries of grocery, bulk, perishables, supplements and wellness, to ensure accountability for receiving paperwork, pricing and security of inventory. Provides excellent customer service to vendors and customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receiving & Inventory Management: Prepare storage areas for deliveries, verify and sign for incoming shipments, document discrepancies, and coordinate returns. Maintain organized backroom and storage spaces, rotate overstock, and ensure secure receiving operations.

  • Vendor & Office Communication: Collaborate with vendors and buyers on overstock, price issues, and returns. Submit “not in file” items and communicate receiving discrepancies to the home office.
  • File & Pricing Maintenance: Maintain accurate pricing and signage, perform file maintenance, scan verification, and report scanning errors. Assist with daily pricing updates and software maintenance.
  • Technical Support: Serve as first-line support for in-house systems (e.g., BR Data), install updates, and act as liaison between the store and main office.
  • Customer Service & Floor Support: Assist customers and provide backup to other departments as needed. Handle special orders and ensure proper product matching.
  • General Duties: Practice safety, care for equipment, support scheduled inventories, and demonstrate regular, reliable attendance. Cross-trained to support both receiving and store operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Two year of grocery experience or equivalent work experience; prior POS experience desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from other managers, store managers, vendors & customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Strong basic math skills including the ability to add, multiply, divide, subtract and calculate percentages.  Strong

knowledge of Microsoft Office application including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages and discounts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to solve practical problems.
