The history of porchetta is long and deeply engrained in central Italy, dating all the way back to the 15th century. Originally, cooking porchetta was a laborious process – a whole pig was deboned, seasoned, rolled, and cooked in a pit underground, and the meal could feed an entire crowd. Today, modern technology has allowed the same delicious taste without an underground pit.
At Zupan’s our housemade porchetta features a Carlton Farms skin-on pork belly stuffed with a boneless pork loin, lemon, rosemary, garlic, fennel, chili flakes, salt & pepper. With crispy crackling skin, this juicy & aromatic roast makes for a delicious meal.
