Inspired by her mother Jean Mackenzie–of Mackenzie Creamery in Hiram, Ohio–Liz Alvis started Portland Creamery in October 2011 after 7 years in the wine industry. The creamery’s mission is simple: turn high-quality single-origin goat milk into delicious cheese.

Portland Creamery sources milk from a herd of goats that was started in 1962 and has been managed by a single family throughout its existence. The herd is comprised on three breeds: Saanen, Alpine, and LaMancha. The creamery resides adjacent to the dairy in Molalla, Oregon, allowing them to source the freshest milk possible.

Portland Creamery focuses on small-batch fresh artisan goat cheese. Their flavor line-up always includes Oregon Chèvre, Herbs de Provence and Sweet Fire in addition to a rotating selection of season flavors.
