Sliders are great for entertaining, as well as a fun way to eat burgers without feeling guilty. They’re small yet pack a lot of flavor. This Asian-inspired sweet & spicy slider is a hit because it’s moist, flavorful, and easy to make.
Ingredients
Burger ingredients:
- 1 T canola oil
- ¼ C chopped yellow onion
- 1½ lbs. 80% ground chuck
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 T ginger, grated
- 1 scallion, finely chopped
- 1/3 C teriyaki sauce, plus ¼ C for basting
- ½ t. salt
- ¼ t. pepper
Sweet chili mayonnaise ingredients:
- 2 T sweet chili sauce
- ½ C mayonnaise
- 1 T lemon juice
- 8 slider buns
- 1 C Cookwell’s Grilled Pineapple and Candied Jalapeño Sauce
- 1 C shredded romaine lettuce
Preparation
Sauté onion with oil in a skillet over medium heat until softened. Let cool.
Place the rest of the burger ingredients in a large bowl. Add sautéed onion and mix well together. Form eight patties, 1″ thick.
Prepare sweet chili mayonnaise by whisking sweet chili sauce, mayonnaise, and lemon juice in a small bowl; refrigerate.
Grill hamburger patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on desired doneness. Baste with ¼ C sauce on both sides while grilling.
To assemble the burger, spread sweet chili mayonnaise on bottom bun, top with shredded romaine lettuce and burger patty, finishing it off with a dollop of grilled pineapple sauce.
