Founded in 1996, J. Christopher Wines creates beautiful Old World style wines handcrafted in small lots and sourced from the best vineyards around Oregon. Owned by Jay and Ronda Somers, J. Christopher makes its home on a stunning 40-acre property on Chehalem Mountain in Newberg. A rock star, turned brewer, turned wine maker, Jay has had the great fortune to work with local Cameron Winery & Adelsheim Vineyard, New Zealand’s Dry Creek Vineyard and Germany’s Dr. Loosen Winery. A self-proclaimed Pinot freak, Jay describes his commitment to Burgundian style wine making as, “Don’t force the vineyard, don’t irrigate the crap out of it, don’t spray a bunch of chemicals on it, and do all the hand labor right.”
