This month we're highlighting local & family-owned Crowley Wines in Newberg. Producing only 2,500 cases each year, our specials feature Pinot Noir, Chardonnay & Rosé.

winery of the month

Based in Newberg, Crowley Wines was started in 2005 by Tyson Crowley and his wife Emily. Hailing from New York, Tyson’s interest in wine was first piqued by a visit to the wineries in the Fingerlakes. Fast forward to a move out West and a resume that includes positions at Erath, Archery Summit and Cameron Winery, Tyson mastered the tools and techniques of winemaking. Crowley Wines’ reputation for transparent, terroir-driven winemaking has become well-known. The team works with family-owned vineyards that are committed to non-irrigated, low-impact farming. All primary vineyard sources are LIVE certified or certified organic. Committed to valuing purity of expression, Crowley produces just 2,500 cases a year with a hands-on approach from vineyard to barrel. All wines are aged for 16 to 20 months in an underground barrel room. This allows for integration and maturity, while also preserving the elegance and liveliness of the wine.

A Perfect Pairing

Sleeping Beauty, Cascadia Creamery
Washington

The full and ripe fruit flavors of the Pinot Noir balance well with the slight sharpness of Sleeping Beauty, while the Chardonnay and Rosé both contrast the creamy mouthfeel of the cheese with their bright acidity. Crowley Wines and Cascadia Creamery cheeses play off each other nicely, showcasing the flavors of the Pacific Northwest.
